From the house of GRAMMY Award Nominated Artist, Producer and Audio Engineer ARUN SHENOY, Shenoy Audio is proud to announce the release of the SGA-010, our premium 41’’ Cutaway Acoustic Guitar.

Fondly referred to as the “the tree of life” by the team, the all-solid guitar proudly sports a solid spruce top and solid mahogany for the back and sides. An intricate inlay of vines on a rosewood fingerboard, a mahogany neck with rosewood strips, high grade die-cast machine heads and a high gloss finish with Abalone and Wood bindings, makes for a dazzling aesthetic profile to match its rich acoustic tone.

Designed for the performing artist in mind, the guitar comes factory fitted with an optional Skysonic R2 unit featuring a dual combination of a magnetic pickup and a condenser microphone, resonance speakers placed inside the body and onboard delay, reverb, and chorus effects. The R2 captures the soundboard resonance and translates it into authentic amplified tone.

Top Wood - Solid Top Spruce : As a top wood, Spruce is light but strong and is characterized by its light color and often looks great contrasted against darker colored back and sides tone woods. We chose Spruce for being a great all round soundboard material that responds well to both aggressive playing and more subtle playing. Spruce has a wide dynamic range and resonates well with a wide range of tones.

Back and sides of the body - Solid Mahogany:  Mahogany has a great mid-range character. It can enhance the mid-range tones and add meatiness/thickness to the sound. Using a Mahogany top would have brought out a mid-range dominant, compressed, warm, thick kind of sound. But we decided to go with Spruce for the top for this particular model to “mellow” out and add warmth to the overall tone.

Skysonic R2 Resonance Pickup Unit: The R2 unit is equipped with two pickups of magnetic and condenser microphone type. A blend feature on the control unit allows the player to dial in the right balance of both pickups.

The magnetic pickups are suitable for players who love big acoustic tones with high feedback resistance on any stage. Combining the natural characteristics of your guitar’s soundboard with a punchy string attack, their body-sensitive design provides realism while cutting through a loud mix.  The condenser mic on the other hand was engineered to provide studio mic’d performance for the stage. The microphone’s noise canceling design to reject boxy reflections combined with unprecedented isolation and feedback suppression provides the sound of a mic with the freedom of a pickup.

Resonance speakers are placed inside the body to feel the amplified resonance of the wood with the effects. The control unit is equipped with three effects: delay, reverb, and chorus and the built-in battery is charged via a USB cable without the need to replace batteries.
